STREAM BANK CLEANUP

PVCA's annual Streambank Cleanup is scheduled for April 20th 2013.

Each spring, the Penns Valley Conservation Association sponsors a stream bank cleanup -- designating a morning and afternoon to pick up trash along the banks of the streams in our local watershed -- Pine, Penns, Elk and Sinking Creeks.

Volunteers scour the banks and bag trash to be picked up and returned to a central point (a dumpster at Coburn Park).  Surprising volumes of trash are collected; typically we fill a 20 yard dumpster.

Prizes are awarded for the most unusual finds, most bags, etc.  Further incentives include snacks and coffee.  Potluck; bring a dish to share, if possible...

A special thanks to all the scouts and venturing crew members that turned out for the cause.

Post-cleanup pics.  Full dumpster, potluck, crazy finds, etc.
